Applying for a PhD can often feel complex and overwhelming. Our three-month Pre-PhD Preparation Programme is designed to guide students through every stage of the process, helping them identify a suitable research topic and develop a strong research proposal. The course also supports students step by step through the university application process.

The programme equips participants with the academic and research skills needed to secure a place at a UK university and begin doctoral research with confidence.

Teaching is delivered through a combination of interactive workshops and individual one-to-one sessions. Tutors on the programme have extensive experience supporting students preparing for doctoral studies and understand the requirements for a successful PhD application.

In addition, students receive comprehensive online learning materials to support their work between workshop sessions, enabling them to develop their research proposal effectively throughout the programme.
